About Castle Air Museum
The Castle Air Museum is one of the largest aviation museums on the west coast. Located in the heart of the Central Valley, the 32 acre site is adjacent to Castle Airport in Atwater, approximately 50 miles north of Fresno. The museum opened in 1981 to pay tribute to the significant role military aviation has played in the defense of the free world. Today the museum has evolved into an exciting destination, exhibiting over 55 vintage aircraft a fascinating collection of wartime memorabilia, including Army Air Corps and Air Force uniforms, and personal military mementos. Museum visitors can browse through a unique collection of aircraft models, artwork, books, videos and souvenirs in the adjacent gift shop and also find a selection of snacks and drinks.
