Fresno Chaffee Zoo offers Zoo Adventures for children ages 3-17 during school breaks. Fall, Winter and Spring Zoo Adventures are single-day educational experiences at your Zoo, while Summer Zoo Adventures are week-long courses with a different theme each week.
Summer Zoo Camp Schedule
Dr. Zoo (June 22-26 or August 3-7) - Staying healthy is important for
animals of all kinds. Discover how the Zoo Veterinarian and zoo keepers
use food, exercise and special care to keep all animals at their best.
Campasaurus (June 15-19 or July 20-24) - Come dig up the past and find out more about some of the creatures who no longer roam the earth. Explore Dino Dig and learn from modern relatives of these ancient beasts.
Commotion in the Ocean (June 29-July 3 or August 17-21) - Escape the summer heat and dive into and Underwater Adventure with us! Travel to all kinds of aquatic habitats from the tide pools at the beach to the depths of the oceans. Get to know some otters, touch a stingray, and explore the coastal wetlands of Sea Lion Cove!
Adventures in Africa (July 6-10 or July 27-31) - With the construction of the new African expansion almost complete, why not get a jump on learning about some amazing animals that call this place home. Learn about lions, elephants, cheetahs, meerkats and more!
Zoo Medley (July 13-17 or August 10-14) - Visit the reptiles, watch the otters play, explore the zoo on a scavenger hunt, and so much more! In this week of summer camp we will highlight different topics from each week of the Zoo Adventures Summer Camp.
Jr Marine Biology (June 29-July 3) - Explore the ocean with a special focus on seals and sea lions: the beautiful, curious hunters of the sea. Learn about the needs of these unique animals in Sea Lion Cove. Camp includes a field trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Jr Zookeeper (June 15-19, July 13-17, July 27-31, or August 10-14) - Come experience life as a keeper at the zoo! Mornings will be spent assisting Zookeepers with their daily tasks in feeding, cleaning and caring for reptiles, mammals or birds. Afternoons will include discussions on Zoo careers, interactive games and projects related to animal science and the Zoo environment.
