About This Event

According to the history books, old timers called big mule deer, moose deer. Moose Lake sits in the subalpine zone, surrounded by open skies and granite peaks. You can see forever! This long weekend backpack will get you up and away from busy, connected life and back to the basics of what's important. You will learn park wilderness history how to identify flowers, local geology, and trees. This trip happens under a New Moon so stargazing should be really good. 

Day 1- Car camp and prepare at Lodgepole campground. Shared campsite provided.

Day 2- Begin at Wolverton Meadow parking area. Alta Meadow is your destination.

Day 3- Leave Alta Meadow for Moose Lake and Tablelands. Some cross country hiking. 

Day 4- Lay over day with cross-country day hike offered.

Day 5- Cross country hike to Pear like. Take the Pear Lake trail to Wolverton Meadow Parking area.
