The Fresno Historical Society presents “Buffalo Bill & California”” at the Fresno County Historical Museum at the Fresno fairgrounds, Thursday, March 22, 2018. Writer, historian and lecturer, Gregory Hinton, will present a program detailing William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody’s life from boyhood to express rider, scout, and international showman. He will describe Cody’s tours to multiple cities in the Golden State, including Fresno. Throughout the talk, vintage photographs and Wild West posters from around the world and California will be shown. Research for Buffalo Bill & California was underwritten by the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming, in celebration of the 2017 Buffalo Bill Centennial. Wine, appetizers and viewing of the museum exhibits are from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm with the program to follow at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 for members/students and $25 for non-members and can be purchased online at www.valleyhistory.org or by calling 559-441-0862. Space is limited. The Fresno County Historical Museum is located at the Big Fresno Fairgrounds. Guests should enter through Gate 2 on Chance Avenue near Butler Avenue and follow signs. Free security-patrolled parking will be available adjacent to the Museum.
