Central Valley Latino cultural arts organization Arte Américas has been invited by The Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández to co-present a performance at The William Saroyan Theatre in Fresno, on August 8, at 7:30 p.m. The show will be part of a tour to span throughout California, and will be the first local performance by the legendary ensemble in more than five years. Nearly 50 dancers will take on the stage and invoke the spirit of Mexico and present a snapshot of the many cities and regions of Mexico. In the form of a journey through history, the Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández unveils their newest production: ¡Así Te Envuelve México! (Mexico Embraces You!) commemorating Mexico’s independence. Founded over 60 years ago, the Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández is the cultural ambassador of Mexico to the World, performing in 60 countries and 300 cities, presenting more than 15,000 times in front of more than 22 million people. In addition to the Fresno date, the ensemble will also present full-scale shows in San Francisco, Sacramento, Modesto, and Los Angeles.
