About Peeve’s Public House and Local Market
Peeve’s Public House & Local Market was created to build community, to be in the front row of downtown revitalization, and to supercharge the movement to support local farmers, local music, local food products, local art, local beer and wine…well, you get the picture.
We love the Central San Joaquin Valley and the Central Sierra Nevada Mountains. We’re grateful to live in a place where you can grow food year-round, golf in the morning and ski in the afternoon, hang out at local wineries with the actual owner/wine-maker. Ethnic diversity is so standard here, that we forget who cool it is.
We are a casual, American-style public house. We have a limited menu that features fresh, seasonal, local food. It’s not fine dining, but it might be the best comfort food you’ve had. We like saying yes to people and groups who want to use our Public House for their events. We host Café Scientifique, we’re an official Arsenal pub, we host a food entrepreneurs’ night, and we’ll let you pick a keg of your favorite beer to have on tap for your birthday.
Our goal is to create a fun, relaxed atmosphere that counters that tired old statement, “no one will go downtown.” We aim to be a destination for Valley food enthusiasts, local business supporters, consumers of local art and music, and those who crave an urban experience in their lives.
Craig Scharton and his trusty dog Peeve hope to share their love of downtown and our entire region with you. We hope that you come and taste the good stuff that comes from this place that we call home.
