Historic Firebaugh is located along the San Joaquin River at the site of the 19th-century Gold Rush-era ferry crossing. Incorporated in 1914, Firebaugh was the first city established in Fresno County and is one of the oldest historical towns on the Westside of the San Joaquin Valley. Relive the city's gold rush era by enjoying a picnic at Riverside Park, or enjoying the rodeo and other annual festivities. Now, an agricultural based city, the Firebaugh area is well known for its tomatoes and melons. As well, a favorite of most visitors in this area is Mercey Hot Springs, with rich natural mineral pools and spas for pure relaxation.
