Wine for Waggy Tails is a wine tasting and lecture event from the people who brought you Science of Wine. Chuck Van Fleet of Vino 100 and Chris Turner a local wine buyer bring you world class wines and interesting facts about the wines you love for only $25 per person, per month. The proceeds of Wine for Waggy Tails benefit Animal Compassion Team, (ACT) a new local, no-kill animal rescue founded in July 2009. Animal Compassion Team is an official 501c3 non-profit animal rescue as of Monday, January 11, 2010 and as such your donations are tax deductible. Yippee! We at ACT are still very excited about the news and are working diligently to save as many Valley animals as we can. We are rescuing animals that need us. There are plenty of purebred rescues out there that step up to help their specific breed. We are an "ALL" animal rescue and do not discriminate on breed or species. We are the rescue for the German Shepherd mix, Chow Chow mix, Pit Bull, basic black cat and the plain brown Terrier/Chihuahua mix or "Valley Chihuahua" as they are lovingly referred to amongst the out-of-town rescues. Without rescues such as ACT these animals would have little chance at finding a loving home in a shelter environment. They're easily overlooked and ACT gives them an opportunity to be seen. They're special to us and to their foster homes. Most ACT animals live in a loving foster home. This helps us to get to know the pet's quirks and assists us further in finding the perfect home. We are always in need of more foster homes.
